“I still hate you.”
“I know.”
“And I don’t trust you.”
“I know.”
“And after this is done-”
“You’re taking me back to jail, I know! Jesus H. Christ, I know you hate me, and the fact you need my help, and this whole situation. Trust me, when you won’t shut up about it, it would be hard not to know. Can we just get beating this fool over with so you can fail to stop me escaping already?”“And…you’re offering to help?”
The villain shrugged. “If I’m going to be as honest as I promised you I would be, I’m mostly using you as a tool to get my revenge on this fucker. What?” they said defensively as the hero raised an eyebrow. “She’s not discriminatory in whether she fucks over heroes or villains. She ruins lives on both sides of the cape divide, and I want to take her down. And I happen to know from experience that you’re not half bad at this ‘justice’ malarkey. So what do you say?”Back to back, fists up, capes tattered and torn. Hero and villain, enemies, forced to work together through sheer desperation.
“Don’t die on me,” the villain hissed. “You die on me, and I will not be saving this damn city by myself.”
The hero chuckled dryly. “Because you can’t do it alone, or you won’t?”
“Because what’s the point of saving this stupid hellhole if you’re not in it?”If you like these prompts, consider buying me a coffee?
