Imprinting sucks

So in the Twilight Series the wolves imprint on their “soulmate” right? But from what smeyer has shown, literally no one was originally happy about their imprint. No one liked the idea of it before it happened and even admitted it was weird and creepy. Jacob was so anti imprint I was stanning him until the disgusting “imprint on my best friend who I was in love with bc bad writing’s newborn baby who’s dad is a vampire I hate”. Seriously I’m very anti-renesmeexjacob.

Jacob said it best about being forced to be happy about it because your biology tells you to be.

Yeah I always found that creepy too. Like how you gonna tell the only POC group who they should love and have the teen fall for a literal baby???? No thanks

plus at the beginning of the book jacob said he hated imprinting

A lot of people call Breaking Dawn pt2 awful but TBH it’s like. One of the most fun films in my opinion. like a bunch of cool vampires all come together and just throw the fuck down?? Some dude gets decapitated from the jaw? Rami Malek and Lee Pace are here?? It’s the ideal film

Kinda frustrated with how Bella managed to sneak away in the film vs how much effort she went to escape to save her mother in the book bc I feel like it takes away a lot of Bella’s intelligence and initiative to say “oh she just snuck out while they weren’t looking” when in reality Alice never would have let that happen

what frustrates me even more is the fact that she tried to hide her plan from alice and jasper. she is literally in the company of two very intelligent and gifted vampires who could help her deceive james, but instead she keeps to herself and does everything james tells her to do and basically fucks everything up instead of seeking advice from alice, jasper and potentially edward and carlisle who were going to land in the airport?? 

like same but this post is about taking away her agency in the film not about whether it was a good choice or not

end of new moon jacob never happened and in my mind he just remained bella’s lovable best friend who sympathized her with all the weird supernatural shit going on with her in her life bella’s like “and vampires are trying to kill me! again!!” and jake’s like “i broke my couch sitting on it in wolf form and now my dad’s mad at me and he’s talking about no furniture rules but he didn’t specify when i’m not allowed on the furniture on purpose”
