Thomas Sanders Appreciation Post

erlenmeyertrash:

…okay but can we just take a moment

Not only does Thomas consistently, wonderfully, hilariously act as four extreme parts of his personality

but he and his amazingly talented friends created a video where those four characters harmonize, communicate, and react to each other simultaneously for two and a half minutes of uncut video time

Watch the carol again (…unless, y’know, you’ve already committed the entire thing to memory) and take careful notice of each character’s part: each of their nuances, their expressions, and the individual stories those tell- like split-second decisions to change lines or slowly increasing frustrations (not to point fingers, but…). Then watch how perfectly all of their parts coincide and remember (because I had to tell myself this several times) that this was NOT four people in the same room. This was one person doing each part individually via one continuous run. One of my favorite parts is Roman and Virgil’s interaction here, where Roman goes “SEVEN. MORE. DAYS.”

Virgil’s flinches are timed perfectly with Roman’s words. Perfectly. And so are Patton’s in the background.

And when Patton misses his line?

The “PATTON!” “-Oh sorry!” lines, which are around the middle of the video, are so fluid. And Patton’s immediately consecutive response to Logan’s “Patton! I’ll trade you…” is equally so.

There are many, many instances of fluidity and perfectly-timed reactions/conversation throughout the song and I was absolutely blown away each time. In short?

Thomas & Co. are so talented and so wonderful and I hope they get all the love  for this Christmas video, because they deserve every bit of it.

The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer (2005-2008)

“And so the lion fell in love with the lamb…" he murmured. I looked away, hiding my eyes as I thrilled to the word.
“What a stupid lamb,” I sighed.
“What a sick, masochistic lion.”
