Mr. Lupin, along with Messers Potter, Black and Pettigrew were all assigned a week’s worth of detention for the misuse of transfiguration, charm work and conspiring with Peeves The Poltergeist to cause mass chaos during the Halloween feast involving a giant Headless Horseman that terrified fellow students.
Detention Assigned: A written letter of apology to the staff and a week of cleaning the Great Hall by hand after dinner.
Nov 20th, 1971 –
Mr. Lupin was assigned detention from Madam Hooch for reading under the quidditch stands instead of participating in flying lessons.
Additional day of detention was added for his excuse ‘Werewolves aren’t aerodynamic’
Detention assigned: 2 nights of Polishing broom handles.
Dec. 19th 1971
Mr Lupin, Messers Potter and Pettigrew were assigned detention along with Messers Black and Lestrange after the latter two got into a physical altercation in the corridors and Lupin, Potter and Pettigrew hexed Lestrange to feel as though his robes were full of hornets.

Messers Lupin, Potter, Black and Pettigrew were assigned detention for charming the Suits Of Armor in the Slytherin Corridor to throw dungbombs at Messers Lestrange, Avery, Mulcibur and Snape
Detention Served: 3 Saturday Afternoons pruning in the Greenhouses.
Jan 31st 1972
Mr. Lupin was assigned detention by Professor Slughorn for falling asleep in one of the large cauldrons during lessons.
Detention Assigned: 2 Nights Scrubbing Cauldrons (to be served the following week, allowing him to get the rest he required, given his specific circumstances)
Feb 14th, 1972
Messers Lupin, Potter, Black and Pettigrew were all assigned detention by Madam Pince for charming books to recite inappropriate and lewd poetry as passers by.
Detentions Served: 4 nights re-shelving books in the library.
March 29th, 1972
Mr. Lupin was assigned detention by Professor Furgal for falling asleep during a Defense Against The Dark Arts Exam.
Detentions Served: 1 night helping Professor Furgal grade papers.
May 7th, 1972
Mr Lupin was assigned detention by Mr. Filch for presumably taunting Mr. Filch’s cat. Mr. Filch’s explanation “Mrs. Norris hisses and shows other signs of fear/disliking whenever Mr. Lupin is nearby”

Messers Lupin, Potter, Black and Pettigrew were all assigned detention by Professor McGonagall for charming a handful of Slytherin students’ hair Red and Gold
Detentions Served: 2 nights banging erasers in Professor Slughorn’s classroom.
Oct 5th 1972
Mr. Lupin and Mr. Pettigrew were assigned detention by Professor Slughorn for being caught out of bed, acting suspicious in the Slytherin Dungeons after curfew.
Detentions Served: 1 night scrubbing cauldrons.
Oct. 17th 1972
Mr. Lupin was assigned detention by Professor Flitwick for making paper airplanes and charming them to hit Miss Bellatrix Black in the back of the head to amuse and “Cheer Up” Mr Sirius Black during Charms class.
Detentions Served: 1 night banging erasers in Professor Flitwick’s Classroom
Nov. 5th, 1972
Mr. Lupin was assigned detention by Professor Sprout for use of inappropriate language while re-potting Mandrakes.
Detentions Served: 1 evening sorting flower pots in the greenhouses.
Dec. 22nd, 1972
Messers Lupin, Potter, Black and Pettigrew were assigned detention by Professor Flitwick for charming the Choir Toads to sing inappropriate lyrics to Christmas Carols
Detention Served: 1 night bathing the Choir Toads.
Jan. 16th, 1973
Mr. Lupin was assigned detention by Professor McGonagall for using inappropriate language and losing his temper during Transfiguration Class.

Messers Lupin, Potter, Black and Pettigrew were assigned detention by Mr. Filch for charming Mrs. Norris’ fur bright pink.

Messers Lupin, Potter, Black and Pettigrew were assigned detention by Professor Slughorn for hexing Miss Narcissa Black’s lip balm to glue her mouth shut.
Detention Served: Sorting Potions Ingrediants every saturday for one month.
June 2nd, 1973
Messers Lupin, Potter, Black and Pettigrew were assigned detention by Professor Sprout for starting a water fight in the greenhouses during Herbology lessons.
Detentions Served: Saturday Afternoon trimming Dittany plants.
